Which rear spring rating should I choose?

Choose the spring for the vehicle’s constant rear load, not the heaviest load carried occasionally. For this 79 Series Dual Cab, the available ratings are Light Duty 0–150 kg, Medium Duty 150–300 kg, Heavy Duty 300–500 kg and Extra Heavy Duty 500 kg-plus. Add the normal weight of the tray/body, drawers, canopy, spare wheels, long-range tank contents and permanently carried tools.

What is the difference between Nitro and Nitro Max shocks?

Nitro is a 35 mm gas-charged shock aimed at recreational 4WD use and improved control on a budget. Nitro Max uses a 45 mm heavy-duty design and is the better choice for a heavily equipped vehicle, frequent towing or sustained rough-road touring.

Will the vehicle rise by exactly 50 mm?

The 50 mm / 2-inch figure is approximate. The final height depends on the vehicle’s original sag, accessory weight, spring selection and how the vehicle settles after installation.

Will a heavier spring increase my legal payload or GVM?

No. A spring or lift kit can support the selected constant load and improve ride height, but it does not change the vehicle’s certified GVM, axle limits or towing rating. A legal GVM upgrade is a separate engineered and certified process.

Will the ride be harsh when the vehicle is empty?

A spring rated well above the vehicle’s constant load will feel firmer and may reduce articulation when empty. Choose the lightest rating that still supports the normal permanent load; use heavy or extra-heavy springs only when that weight is genuinely carried all the time.
